Introducing the Centre
The Centre for CSR, West Africa, is a leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability strategy development, policy advocacy, public relations, events and communications agency in the West African sub-region. The Centre develops CSR strategy for large and small corporations and offer to implement same through a scientific process that produces desired and empirical results for all stakeholders. The Centre advocates for socially-responsible and sustainable practices among stakeholders, especially players in the private sector. The Centre is reputed for organising and bringing to life, West Africa's biggest CSR events and initiatives.
Partnerships (Media, Technical Cooperation & Collaboration)
The Centre has more than 45 local and international media partners for its flagship CSR Awards and other similar initiatives such as the CSR & Community Development Conference, CSR Reporting for Journalists and the SDGs Conference. Its activities are supported and endorsed by business associations, government agencies, mainstream media, civil society organisations and international aid agencies such as the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE), Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Ministry of Trade & Industry (MoTI), Plan International, Care International and many others.
The Centre for CSR has successfully organised six editions of the Ghana CSR Excellence Awards and four editions of the National CSR & Sustainability Conference.
The Centre's initiatives and flagship events are regularly patronised by major private sector players such as Unilever, Nestle, PwC, Kosmos Energy, MTN, Barclays, Stanbic Bank, Vodafone, Millicom (Tigo), Airtel, Mohinani Group, Fidelity Bank, Coconut Grove Beach Hotel, Databank, Huawei Technologies, Beige Capital, Prudential Insurance, Wire Weaving Industries, Latex Foam, Samsung West Africa, Diageo (Guinness), Access Bank, Interplast, to mention a few.
The 6th Edition of the Ghana CSR Excellence Awards has been launched by the President of the Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters, Mr. Anthony Sikpa and supported by the UNDP National Coordinator for SDG Philantrophy Platform, Ms Pearl Darko, the Director of the University of Applied Management, UAM, Germany (GH Campus), Prof. Martin Gyambrah, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA, Mr. Koji Makino, Mr. Nathaniel Quarpoome, Director of Finance and Administration, Association of Ghana Industries, AGI and Dr. Jemima Nunoo of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA.
The official launch took place at the closing-line of the CSR & SDG Conference held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra on May 27, 2016.
